The coldest weather now appears to be behind us, which should mean an end to the new potholes created by this winter’s freeze–thaw cycle. Over recent weeks we’ve been reporting the worst areas and making sure the Council’s Highways team has the information they need to carry out repairs. The stretch from Sanderstead Station up to the roundabout was particularly bad, so it is encouraging to see that this section has been addressed this week. Crews have also been working through side roads, including several potholes that hadn’t yet been reported.
The Highways team operates a “Find and Fix” programme, allowing them to identify and repair defects proactively, and many residents have played their part by reporting issues through the Love Clean Streets app. A few potholes remain, so continued reporting will help ensure the road network is restored to how it should be.
