Downlands Road is getting resurfaced

Increased road resurfacing has been a key priority and I'm pleased that we have seen an increased number of Purley & Woodcote roads resurfaced or about to be following lobbying from ward councillors and with the support of Mayor Perry.

I'm pleased that Downlands Road is one of them and that works are taking place on Wednesday 11th-Friday 13th June.

I have been advised that traffic management will involve a road closure in sections, while gully cleansing will be carried out on Saturday 14th June, which will result in a parking suspension only.

Please be aware that due to the nature and location of the work, some disruption is expected.  The work will be conducted between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs.  If you require vehicular access during these hours, we recommend seeking an alternative route and allowing extra time for your journey.  Traffic management plans are available upon request, and they will detail the work as per the council’s specifications.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate resident co-operation in ensuring the work is carried out safely and efficiently. I hope disruption is kept to a minimum and I understand that the Council is letting local residents and businesses know via letter drop and attach a copy of this.

I'm looking forward to seeing a shiny resurfaced Downlands Road soon!
