Chris Philp MP: Coulsdon Medical Centre Update

CMC
CMC letter

Mayor Jason Perry and I are continuing to keep a close eye on the exciting development of the new primary and community care facility in Coulsdon and we are pleased to share the latest timelines for delivery.

The selection of the GP practice which will run the new Coulsdon Medical Centre is expected to conclude by the end of June and discussions will then take place about the specific services which can be provided here as a GP Plus arrangement. This will entail regular GP services and a range of additional community healthcare services, some of which would ordinarily require a trip to hospital. I will send round more details on the services as I get them.

The meantime occupiers of the site have been given Notice to Vacate and it is anticipated that the contractors will be making a start on construction work on site in July.

All the funding which I secured from the previous Conservative Government (letter from February last year) has been transferred to the council to fund the construction of the centre. Mayor Jason Perry did a phenomenal job in arranging a legal structure that allowed all the money to be transferred by 31st March this year, after which the funding would have disappeared.

All being well we can look forward to having this fantastic new Medical Centre in Coulsdon opening its doors in March 2026.

I will keep everyone updated!
