New playground in place at Bourne Park

It’s wonderful to see the new playground at Bourne Park finished to schedule – and just in time for the Easter holidays!

It looks brilliant – lots of new play equipment, good new surface and most importantly, plenty of children and families playing!

The refurbishment forms part of Mayor Perry’s Parks Improvement Programme, with the new play features shaped by consultation with local residents. It’s been a really enjoyable and rewarding project to be involved in.

Alongside this investment in Bourne Park, further improvements for Kenley’s children and families include the new playground at Roke Open Space and a new outdoor gym at Higher Drive Rec. Works are scheduled to begin on 20 April and are expected to last around ten days — ready in time for the May Bank Holiday.
