The local councillors are delighted that the parade at Sanderstead shops is having a blitz clean. The temporary decking at Med Kitchen has been removed so that the council pavement can have a thorough clean. Some of the red tiles belonging to shop owners have also had a good clean. The benches around the pond have been jet washed too and the duck houses have been removed to be repaired. There may be some more exciting news on its way regarding a kind offer from one of the Veolia operatives to makes a couple more duck houses - so watch this space.
It is all happening here in Sanderstead in terms of improvements and I met with Sanderstead Residents' Association and council officers to talk about a sundial on the bank of the Gruffy to mark their Centenary. You can read all about this in their magazine The Sanderstead News which will be coming out this month. I would encourage you to join the SRA if you are not already members. The Association does so much in our lovely village and beyond to support residents.
The sun was out today and with this special clean it was looking particularly beautiful out on the parade The cleaning is continuing next week to the Hamsey Green area. I am grateful to Mayor Perry for this initiative which is helping keep our areas looking clean ready for spring.
