A number of times since lockdown we have reported overflowing bins in one or another of our local parks and open spaces. The standard answer we get is that this is an inevitable consequence of Covid-19. I could accept this in March and April, when the council was franticaly redeploying people from here to there to keep the most important services going. However, I do now have to wonder how legitimate this argument is four months on.
This week a concerned resident has asked the council to intervene over the mess left in the Rec on a Thursday nght when the pizza van comes. This is a completely forecastable event, so I have written to officers asking them to arrange a Friday morning clear up each week.
