Kenley Lane Welcomes Road valley Road junction

UPDATE 22 June 2023: All Saints & St Barnabas Churches have volunteered to help monitor, water and look after planting

Over the past few months, the junction of Kenley Lane/Welcomes Road/Valley Road have been improved for pedestrian safety, and also aesthetically. Four trees have been planted, street furniture added, with plans for more planting and a bin.

Junction before the works

The photo above shows the junction prior to the works.

(As an aside, on sunny days like today, it's very nice to grab a coffee from the florist shop on the Godstone Road, and sit on the chairs and watch the world go by).

On Wednesday 14th June, council officers will be planting more bedding-in plants on the junction and have invited local residents to get involved, or come for a chat and ask questions. The team will be there from 10am, so do come along. The plants have been selected to be low maintenance.

Enjoying a coffee

No coffee cups were left on site!

Do check out these postcards that were put onto the NextDoor app by Jack Verhoeff, who has given me permission to share them here
