Andy with Damian Luke

Cllr. Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon and Communities) continued his meetings with key community leaders this week. Andy joining Damian Luke who has a number of leadership roles in Croydon and is the Senior Pastor at Praise House Church. Damian gave Andy a tour of their building in Tamworth Road which is currently being refurbished.

Andy commented

"I was really impressed by the refurbishment work that is currently being undertaken at the Tamworth Road site. There are already a number of small local community groups who are using office space in the building and when the refurbishment work is completed there will be space for up to 30 groups to call the facility home. The building also provides a great space for Praise House  Church to meet and run youth and kids work activities. The building has already become a community hub in the heart of Croydon and will continue to expand as the building work continues.

I was delighted to have a chance to spend time with Damian and talk about the challenges of ensuring that the political leadership in the town reflects the rich diversity of communities that make Croydon such a great place to live."
