9 flats proposed for Green Lane

22 Green Lane

We wanted to alert local residents to a new application for 9 flats at 22 Green Lane, Purley, which we will be objecting to strongly.

Application Number: 26/00642/FUL

Location: 22 Green Lane, Purley, CR8 3PG

Details of Application: Demolition of existing dwelling, erection of three-storey building to provide 9 self-contained flats and provision of associated landscaping, parking, cycle and refuse storage.

We are concerned that a three-storey building of nine flats would be seriously out of character with the locality and would represent overdevelopment of a site currently occupied by a single family home. We believe this would be detrimental to neighbouring occupiers, and that the site is not close enough to a train station or town centre boundary — the kind of location where higher-density housing is normally supported.

If you wish to object/comment on this application, please do so by the deadline of Saturday 3 October:

  • Use the online comments facility following instruction on the online planning register here
  • Email [email protected]
  • Send a letter to: Development Management, Sustainable Communities, Regeneration and Economic Recovery Department, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA.

Please quote the application number in any correspondence.

As ward councillors, we will always stand up against inappropriate applications.
