Coulsdon Sewage Issues

For months now there has been repeated issues with sewage leaking at various points along the length of Chipstead Valley Road.

Local councillors have been doing our best to push Thames Water, Croydon Council and all relevant authorities to rectify this in the long-term.

You can keep up to date with our work on this issue here.

An update from Thames Water

I've recently receive the below update from Thames Water, after chasing them to find the root cause of the sewage leak:

Another sewage leak on Chipstead Valley Road

I was made aware of another sewage leak on Chipstead Valley Road at approximately 6am this morning.

It appears to be most severe near St Aidan's, close to the junction of Coniston Road.

It's clear that the sewage is flowing into gardens and has been sprayed onto local cars.

Sewage leak outside Pizza Express

Local residents have informed me that there is a sewage leak flowing outside Pizza Express in Coulsdon.

It appears to be coming from the bin store of the flats immediately above the restaurant.

Raw sewage on Chipstead Valley Road - again

Local residents will be aware of the sewage that spilled onto Chipstead Valley Road in early February from outside the Midday Sun pub which ran towards Chipstead Valley Primary School.
