A little more about your local team

Cllr  Luke Clancy

Luke has lived in Croydon for 14 years and prior to becoming elected to represent Coulsdon West ward in 2014 was a former Croydon Councilor for South Norwood ward. From 2006-10 he served as Vice-Chairman of the Planning Committee, Deputy Cabinet Member for Regeneration and was a Trustee of Croydon Council Pension Fund. He was also a school governor, a Safer Neighbourhood Team Ward Panel member and involved in various community interest groups. Luke works as a financial journalist and in his spare time enjoys long distance running.

Cllr  Mario Creatura

Mario is a lifelong Croydon resident. He was state educated locally before being the first in his family to go on to university. He has worked for Heineken as their Public Affairs Manager and in Parliament as a political adviser for Gavin Barwell, MP for Croydon Central (2010-17). He has experience working in PR and Marketing at the University of Surrey and the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities. He now works in Government communications. Mario sits on the Coulsdon Safer Neighbourhood team, the management committee of the Coulsdon Community Centre and on two of Coulsdon's incredible Residents' Associations. He is a big believer in community engagement and is a proud supporter of the Coulsdon Yulefest Christmas festival. It's his ambition to get as many people involved in the local community as possible. In May 2016 Mario was made Conservative Chief Whip on the Council.

Ian Parker

• Lived and worked in the Coulsdon/Purley area for nearly 30 years • Married with two children both educated at local state schools • Chair of Governors at Woodcote High School • Former Coulsdon Councillor (2010-2014) and Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration • Former member of Coulsdon Forum • Local volunteer for the Royal British Legion for over 20 years Having served as a Coulsdon West Councillor for four years (2010-2014) I have a clear picture of the role of a local Councillor. Key is the ability to listen to and respond without promising that every wish can be met. As an ambassador for Coulsdon I would seek to promote the area to ensure the town centre remains a vibrant place to shop and work. The ever-growing Cane Hill development provides challenges for local public services. Elected representatives need to ensure the services expand in line with the growing population. Any developments should preserve the green belt that should be cherished for ours and future generations. As a Conservative Councillor, I would seek to ensure we get value for money from our local taxes. To do that, we need a Conservative administration in the Town Hall from May this year. Coulsdon has for too long been neglected by a Labour Croydon Council.
