A little more about your local team

Jade Appleton

Jade grew up locally and went to university in London to study defence. She has lived in Addiscombe West for the last eight years and works in politics focusing on working with local government and the London boroughs. She is passionate about creating opportunities for all in the local area and improving services for residents and businesses. Jade has been involved locally with residents for a number of years, as well as working annually as a volunteer with the British Legion Poppy Appeal team in Croydon, she is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. You can follow her on Twitter here.

Lindsey Blackburn

Lindsey has lived in Croydon for 11 years and believes that local residents have been ignored by the Labour Council for too long. She is determined that local people should have a voice on the issues directly affecting them - be it the proposed one-way system, Menta’s development in Cherry Orchard Road, Addiscombe access to East Croydon Station or ongoing fly-tipping. And let’s not forget wider concerns such as the delivery of Westfield-Hammerson, re-opening of Fairfield Halls, ‘inadequate’ performance of Croydon’s Children’s Services, the disturbing increase in knife crime and the threat to Croydon’s valuable green spaces.

Michael O'Dwyer

Michael is married to Marion, with a daughter who is an Assistant Head Teacher. They recently welcomed the arrival of their first grandchild. Michael has lived locally for over 20 years and has extended family living in Addiscombe. Believing it was important for neighbours to share concerns over local issues and hold their Councillors to account, they were founder members of their local residents’ association which Michael chaired. Michael has worked in Croydon for over 30 years including a branch office in Addiscombe and currently has a recruitment business with the aim of matching Croydon people with Croydon jobs.
