We received the latest update from our Safer Neighbourhood Team yesterday, edited highlights of which are below. These are the SNT's words, so 'we' means the SNT.
Burglary - Burglary patrols and victim visits have taken place across the ward. We aim to visit all burglary victims within 24 hours, to ensure we record and use information for intelligence purposes to prevent future offences. Over the last 4 weeks, Sanderstead has had a total of 8 Burglary as marked on the map above as a red dot. The copy of the map on this page is too small to be useful, but if you click here you can see a larger version. Door to door inquiries are be made to all surrounding residents to gather further intelligences and advice them of the recent burglary.
Speed Awareness - speed awareness is designed to increase the awareness of speeding and encourage drivers to address their behaviour without being penalised, reduce the risk of injuries and collisions on local roads, and improve the safety and quality of life for the local community.
Anti-social behaviour by Youths - We recently have had numerous complaints from residents regarding groups of youths congregating, such as Sanderestead recreation ground. These areas have been identified where youths have been congregating to the annoyance of local residents. The team have targeted and increased patrols in and around these locations at relevant times.
The latest Ward Panel Meeting was conducted on Tuesday 1st July. At the meeting the Ward Promises were heavily discussed with crime figures and trends. It was agreed that the Promises would change from ‘School patrols’ to ‘Speed awareness’.
The next street briefing will be held at Waitrose, Limpsfield Road on 24th July at 10.00am.
The next Ward Panel Public meeting will be held at Riddlesdown Collegiate, Honitser Heights on 14th October at 7.00pm.
