|Council leader gives 'early help' cheque to flood-affected businesses|
Together with GLA Member and Kenley councillor, Steve O'Connell, the leader of the council, Cllr Mike Fisher, today brought some cheer to the lives of flood-affected business owners along the A22.
All businesses directly affected by the flooding are to receive a payment of £1,000 to provide immediate relief and there's a three month Business Rates holiday as well.
Affected residents in houses and flats are to receive a similar three month tax-free period.
Cllr Fisher says "I know that the businesses along the A22 really appreciate the support we have been giving them, and this £1,000 will enable them to get on with clearing up after these unprecedented floods."
