Free swimming for Croydon under 16s

Croydon's under 16s can now keep active and stay healthy with free access to swimming pools under a new scheme introduced by Croydon's Conservative Council.

Under 16s can join the scheme by going along to one of the centres with a parent or guardian and registering for a membership card, which lets them in at any time during opening hours. There is a small one-off charge of £2 for issuing the membership cards. The membership scheme is important as it means that anyone abusing the privilege of free swim sessions can have their card revoked.

Over 60s can already swim free at the Croydon pools by simply showing some form ID. So now they can also take the grandchildren out to burn off some energy - and all for free.
