A little about the team.....
Sara Bashford Sara has lived in Croydon since the age of three and moved to Selsdon seven years ago. Sara started her career as a buyer and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. For the last three years she has worked at Riddlesdown School as a Learning Support Assistant, with many children who live in Selsdon. Her own two children also attend local schools, so her roots are very much in Selsdon, of which she is very proud. Sara is keen to continue to work with young people in Croydon and looks forward to serving the whole community.
Dudley Mead Married to Margaret, Dudley has worked as a Chartered Accountant in Croydon for over 30 years. He has served as a Selsdon Councillor for over 25 years and is currently Conservative Joint Deputy Leader and spokesman for Housing. Dudley is a Member of the Board for Fairfield Halls and a governor of Selsdon Primary School. Aside from his work at a local level, Dudley has enjoyed helping severely disabled children and adults through his work at the Garwood Foundation. Dudley has a keen interest in classical music and is Chairman of the London Mozart Players.
Phil Thomas Phil is married to Jill and teaches at a large comprehensive school in Surrey. He has lived in Selsdon for 16 years and has been a Croydon Councillor for 8 years. In his time as a Councillor, Phil has been Conservative spokesman for Leisure Services and now serves as Conservative Shadow Cabinet Member for Environmental and Street Services. He is very keen on developing activities for young people in the evenings and school holidays. As a teacher he has been able to make a valuable contribution in his capacity as a governor of Haling Manor School. Phil’s interests include travel, recycling and following Manchester United. |
