Local Election 2006
Your Kenley Candidates

A little about the team.....

Jan Buttinger Jan has lived in Kenley since 1976 and has been a Councillor for 8 years. She is married with a son and daughter. She is a teacher by profession and also serves as a Governor for a local school. Since becoming a Councillor Jan has worked closely with the residents of Kenley to ensure they get the service they deserve from the Council. As well as handling residents’ issues Jan has acted as Chairman of the Scrutiny Learning and Leisure Sub-Committee on Croydon Council. Jan is a passionate believer in the Green Belt and the need to preserve the environment.

Steve Hollands Steve is married and has two children of primary school age. He has represented Kenley ward for the past eight years and lives in the ward. Steve works in the City. He is interested in leisure provision in our area and is also the Conservative spokesman on Culture and Sport. Steve is passionate about protecting our part of the Borough and ensuring that residents receive good value for money from the Council. He is also keen to ensure Kenley residents receive a fair share of Council spending, whether that be through cleaner streets or school funding.

Steve O’Connell Steve has represented Kenley for the last four years, is married, has two sons and works in banking. He is one of the Deputy Leaders of Croydon’s Conservative Council Group and is the spokesman on Crime Reduction. He is a Governor of a local school and a founder member of The Friends of Kenley Airfield. He has spent much of the past four years defending our local environment against overdevelopment and protecting our Green Belt. He has also been very active in calling for more police in Kenley and wants to see more Council resources to fight anti-social behaviour.
